Tom Lamb
Fitness has always been an important aspect of my life. From participating in team sports in my childhood, teens and early twenties, to practising Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu until recently and frequenting gyms for the past ten years too. As a result, I value feeling physically fit, healthy and strong in everyday life – something I endeavour to impart onto others through my role as a PT. Aside from that, I’m a big advocate for how much of a positive effect keeping active has on your mental health and wellbeing, having undertaken some mental health qualifications last year also.
When I decided to move into the industry, I’ve always tried to approach sessions with a level of personability, compassion and knowledge that not only best serves the client and their goals, but keeps it fun too. So whether the individual wants to gain strength, lose weight, get a sweat on with some circuits or generally aim for self improvement and sustainability, I want them to leave feeling accomplished and that they enjoyed themselves in the process.
My own training is pretty reflective of that as I tend to set myself performance goals over aesthetic ones. I’ll incorporate strength training and a few functional movements/calisthenics into my routine aswell as a bit of Crossfit/Hyrox for some cardio (you couldn’t pay me to be on a treadmill for more than ten minutes). What I love about fitness is that there is always something new to try that’ll completely humble you and make you feel like you’re starting out all over again!
Hobbies
In my spare time I write professionally as a freelancer.
Guilty Pleasure
You could say my guilty pleasure is indulging in a good pizza more often than I should.
Fun Fact About Me
Being a self professed film geek, I write about films on the side as a hobby. So be prepared to keep a list of your favourite films handy, that’s of course if you have any!
